Recording working hours means more than just the simple recording of data. Thomas Mersmann told us that this also creates transparency and security. For him, clockin is not just a tool for documenting his employees' working hours, but also a step into the future that is still taken too rarely, especially in doctor's offices.
Thomas Mersmann has a dental practice in Münsterland, offers treatments for the whole family and is supported by nine medical assistants. He and his team have specialized in modern treatment methods and advanced equipment in order to offer patients 21st century dentistry.
Doctors' practices are burdened with a lot of bureaucracy these days, says Mersmann. A lot of data and information has to be managed - and all of this has to be done in compliance with data protection regulations.
“There is so much information that can only be handled using software: patient data, daily schedules, accounting, account management, quality management… all of this can only be done using good software.”
In his view, this can only be implemented easily and Cell Phone Number Database efficiently with good digitalization. For him, part of this digitalization process is time recording.
Time recording in doctor's offices
Time recording was previously almost non-existent
Of course, overtime had already been recorded in the Mersmann dental practice before. But this was very cumbersome and neither effective nor transparent: with good old paper and ballpoint pen. Employees came to Mersmann when they wanted to reduce their hours and then entered this manually in the calendar. Digital tools were not used in this process.
"You hear that from other doctor's offices too," reports Mersmann. "They write notes that are given to an employee every few months, who then presents them to the boss every few months. Too much gets lost in the process. And that can't be right, nobody wants that, not my employees and not me either."

Digital processes established with ease
Thomas Mersmann came across clockin through a WDR report. “Introducing the app was actually relatively simple”: He familiarized himself with the interface by using the support options that clockin offers him. He used YouTube videos to explain how to set up his employees in the software, and when things got tricky he called support or used the chat function on the website. This allowed him to introduce clockin effectively in a very short space of time.
He recruits two employees to test the app with him. This makes it easier for him to establish it across the entire team in the next step and he receives direct feedback from a different perspective.
The plan is to get rid of the paperwork in the office and have more time for patients, the company and family. "As a dentist, I try to keep everything in one place. In my office, with software that I can access from my PC here in the practice, but also at home in my home office," says Mersmann.
